
The Canadian Medical Association has made several recommendations on marijuana regulations. While not taking a position for or against legalization, the organization recommends a minimum age for smoking pot at 21, and controlled sale of the drug to those under 25. It also recommends that more resources should go towards research, services for addiction, and pilot projects prior to marijuana being rolled out nationally, and that there should be a ban on home cultivation of marijuana and on smoking the drug in public places.
