Chris Hughes, a photo enthusiast, was arrested by authorities in Cuba for using a drone at one of the country’s tourist sites. Originally from Toronto, Ontario, Hughes travelled to Cuba, first using the drone to obtain views of Cuba’s capital city. Hughes wasn’t provided with legal counsel, but was continually questioned by authorities to determine if he was a U.S. spy. After about two weeks of captivity, Hughes was eventually released and sent back to Canada. He reunited with his family and told CTV News that he acknowledged his error in having to use the drone in the first place.
